| Advanced Research Projects (ARP):
Advanced Research Projects Division (ARP) spearheads the Engineering and Analytical efforts in High Technology areas for Projects of Critical Importance. Over the years, ARP has evolved into a Centre for Excellence, involved in analytical and high end design activities using CAD & FEA tools, cutting across various engineering disciplines viz. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Fluid (CFD), Piping, etc. It plays a significant role in two very important initiatives of the Company. Firstly to develop and nurture next generation clean coal technologies and secondly, to develop Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) and Advanced Ultra Supercritical Technologies. ARP is leading BHEL's thrust for Engineering Automation and Product Lifecycle Management.
Corporate Quality (CQA) :
Corporate Quality Assurance (CQA) is the Corporate level Quality Assurance nodal agency responsible for coordinating Quality Assurance initiatives and quality issues of the Manufacturing Divisions, Project Sites and Customers. CQA has been entrusted the role of formulation and deploying Quality Management Systems across all units of BHEL. Similarly , it has been undertaking co-ordination of initiatives like ISO-9000, TQM, 5S etc. The Quality Management group in CQA is also responsible for follow up of Root Cause Analysis and corrective/preventive action for customer complaint at Corporate level. CQAs mandate is to place impetus on product and process level audits at Manufacturing Units and Project sites for major products and supercritical projects so as to enable the Company take pro-active steps by enhancing the quality of its products and services.
